Tim Burton inspired San Diego Photo Shootout

In the spirit of Halloween, I attended the San Diego Photog Shootout group's  "Tim Burton inspired Dia De Los Muertos Shootout" last weekend.  AMAZING time!  It was a dreary rainy day, but it only helped to set the dark mood for the shoot.  So fun to play with the lighting, posing, and edits to make photos a little creepy--something different!  The location was phenomenal, Hidden Palms is the most gorgeous estate I have ever seen in my life.  Despite all the gorgeous greenery and architecture, my fav were the photos in the meat locker (directly below) --so bizzare!  We used 'video lights' that I'd never used or even heard of before, very cool.  And on my wishlist now!

These shoots are so much fun to do--great practice with great people.  Everyone is so willing to help you learn.  A big shout out to all those who helped bring the day together from organizers to models to stylists and vendors.

The Swift Family

What a fun shoot with a beautiful family!  So much personality in these little faces :)
So hard to get everyone looking at the camera at once!
 Oh the love!

One hot mama!  Shouldn't she be a model!?

The whole family--and everyone looking at the camera!  Thanks for letting me do your photos--enjoy!

Train Park with Friends

We had a great picnic and photoshoot at the Poway Train Park with some friends this weekend.  They are lovely models don't you think?!  The kids were ultra cooperative and mom and dad are just so photogenic--thanks for the fun you guys!

This was my fav family shot of the day :)

Aren't these kids cute?!

Casey and Bert

Bert and Casey live in my 'hood and Bert is headed to the 'stan pretty soon...a good time to take a moment and take some family photos.  I had so much fun during their shoot because we were able to take our time to get the shots we wanted--without worrying about kids melting down!  Good practice for me!

These guys were game for everything I threw at them--thanks for humoring all my wild ideas!

Those EYES!  Bert--you got yourself a pretty wife for sure!
Thanks for the fun shoot Casey and Bert!  You guys are adorable--all the best during your upcoming deployment.
